TRANSFORMATIVE MILESTONES
Bridging Speech-Language Pathology & Applied Behavior Analysis

Services
Transformative Milestones provides the following services to address a range of communication and behavioral needs. If you have concerns about your child, please fill out the inquiry form for a screening or comprehensive evaluation.
Articulation Therapy
Articulation therapy addresses placement of the articulators (lips, tongue, etc.) inside of the mouth to correctly produce the desired sounds. Typically, the therapist will break down the goals into levels, beginning with the sound in isolation, graduating to syllables, words, phrases, sentences and lastly, conversation. Care is taken to generalize the production outside of therapy by providing strategies to families to support correct sound production.
Language Therapy
Parents and caregivers may experience children who are frustrated conveying what they mean or have difficulty understanding language. These struggles come in the way of the child participating fully in everyday life, whether it be in the home environment, school setting, or extracurriculars. The goal of language therapy is to reduce the impact of these difficulties. Ultimately, data-driven language strategies will support the child in achieving their highest potential.
Behavioral Support
The goals of ABA therapy are constructed and modified with the specific needs of the child in mind. The cornerstone of ABA therapy is evidence-based practice, relying on a succession of steps including observation, measurement, treatment, evaluation, and refinement of strategies with a singular focus on a child and family’s needs. An adept practitioner will work with families to envision goals that will build towards broader, long-term changes in behavior that will positively impact a child’s daily life.
Evaluations
There are a number of tools that a practitioner can utilize to paint a holistic picture of your child. During a behavioral evaluation and/or speech-language evaluation, Priya will sit down with families to help identify and address concerns about a child’s skills, be it communication skills or within the behavioral domain. She will perform standardized testing to understand the child’s skill level. After the evaluation, she will share the results and make recommendations to you regarding therapy.
Social Skills
The goal of social skills building is to enhance a child’s ability to navigate the world around them and for the world to recognize just how much the child has to offer. Families may observe their children in real-life peer scenarios or hear feedback from their school that their child is facing barriers to participating in ways that are meaningful to them. Incorporating social skills goals into a child’s repertoire is a great first step to breaking down these barriers. Areas that are often addressed in small groups are social play, pretend play, conversation initiation and turn-taking, following directions, and identifying social cues to name a few. The goal is to promote success and ultimately, generalization of skills.
Collaborative Liaison
In a society that is connected in so many ways, SLPs and BCBAs have access to numerous resources, technology, and perspectives. As a dual-certified professional, Dr. Ramaswamy can serve as a liaison on your child’s educational team, to strengthen collaboration and improve services. Whether through development and implementation of individualized service plans and individualized education programs, or as a family advocate, she will work closely with your family to optimize the best outcomes for your child.
